Alexander Isak scored for a third straight Premier League game as Liverpool inflicted only Brighton's second loss of the season.

Liverpool defeated Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0 at Anfield to secure their first Premier League home win under manager Andoni Iraola. A 17th-minute own goal by Pascal Gross diverted from a Florian Wirtz shot, followed quickly by an Alexander Isak finish from a Bradley Barcola cross, gave Liverpool an early two-goal cushion.
The victory lifted Liverpool to fourth place in the Premier League table after their fourth consecutive win across all competitions. Brighton held 64 percent possession but managed just one shot on target, with Yasin Ayari striking the post in the first half.
