Liverpool have got to agree a deal as soon as possible. Their current plan is a recipe for disaster.
Writer Alex Caple argues that Liverpool are making a critical mistake by delaying contract extension talks with midfielder Alexis Mac Allister. Although the Argentine's contract runs through 2028, The Telegraph reports Liverpool are in no rush to offer an extension, despite Mac Allister publicly desiring one.
Caple notes that Liverpool previously agreed to new terms for fellow midfielders Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai. He warns that delaying a renewal risks inflating Mac Allister's wage demands and attracting interest from European rivals as his stellar form continues.
