Liverpool aren't helping Andoni Iraola with their latest transfer plan. The €60m idea is a mistake.
Writer Alex Caple argues that Liverpool's reported interest in signing AS Roma midfielder Manu Koné would be a mistake. According to reports from TuttoMercatoWeb, Liverpool and Chelsea remain interested in Koné after Roma rejected a €60m offer from Chelsea. Roma reportedly expects an even larger permanent bid in 2027.
Caple contends that signing Koné would not help manager Andoni Iraola because the Frenchman's attacking profile closely resembles Ryan Gravenberch. Instead of paying €60m for similar traits, Caple believes Liverpool need defensive-minded midfielders who can halt counter-attacks, suggesting alternative targets like Lamine Camara or Sergi Altimira.
