Report: Andoni Iraola makes final decision on ‘heroic’ Liverpool star

Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola has reportedly decided that 33-year-old goalkeeper Alisson remains the club's undisputed first-choice option in the Premier League. According to an update from Football Insider, backup goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili will only be handed starts in league competition if Alisson suffers an injury.

Alisson has recently recorded three consecutive clean sheets in the Premier League and had his contract extended by another year. Meanwhile, Mamardashvili, who featured in 20 matches last season and recently played in the Carabao Cup against Tottenham, remains second in the pecking order.
