Liverpool have reportedly made an approach to sign Chelsea defender Levi Colwill as they assess options for a new left center-back. With 35-year-old Virgil van Dijk entering the final months of his contract, the Merseyside club holds a strong interest in the 23-year-old. Tottenham Hotspur have also made checks regarding the England international.
Chelsea reportedly have no intention of sanctioning a permanent transfer for Colwill, viewing him as a crucial part of their long-term plans. The defender is under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2029, with an extension option, and Chelsea are planning to offer him a new deal.
