Manchester City chief executive Ferran Soriano stated that the guilty verdicts regarding financial rule breaches stem from a "Premier League conspiracy theory." An independent panel found the club guilty of more than 100 charges, alleging that City artificially inflated revenue and lowered costs by over £900m via sham sponsorships.
In a message sent to club staff, Soriano confirmed Manchester City will appeal the decision, arguing that the ruling ignores irrefutable evidence. The club must now await a separate hearing to determine the sanctions imposed by the commission.
