‘Sham’ deals and ‘dishonest’ witnesses – key revelations from Man City verdict

An independent commission found Manchester City guilty of all serious Premier League financial breaches spanning the 2009-10 to 2017-18 seasons. A 40-page report detailed that City utilized a disguised funding scheme and identified 'The Fordham Arrangement' as little more than a front for Abu Dhabi United Group to overstate revenue and conceal expenses.

The commission concluded the club overstated sponsorship income by £830.69 million and omitted nearly £17 million in remuneration agreements paid by ADUG. It also determined that certain witnesses for the club gave dishonest evidence, though Manchester City confirmed they will appeal the ruling.
