Antonio Conte: Major plot in Italy threatens to scupper Man United’s pursuit of serial winner

Manchester United's reported pursuit of manager Antonio Conte faces growing competition from Juventus following pressure on Luciano Spalletti in Italy. United have endured a difficult start to the 2026/27 Premier League campaign under Michael Carrick, collecting only seven points from seven matches. Conte has been out of work since departing Napoli in the summer and is reportedly open to taking charge at Old Trafford immediately.

However, writer Daniel Onguko highlights that Ineos's hesitation could allow Juventus to intervene first. Following a 3-0 home defeat to Lazio that left Juventus in eighth place, Italian media reports indicate the Turin club may sack Spalletti and target Conte for a return.
