JJ Gabriel transfer twist as first ‘significant offer’ made and Man United decision imminent

Manchester United are expected to lose 16-year-old forward JJ Gabriel, with Real Madrid reportedly submitting a significant contract offer ahead of an imminent decision on his future. The proposed permanent deal is said to be worth €10 million (£8.4m) over a three-year contract including bonuses. Gabriel has reportedly been training alone in Spain after his representatives requested that Manchester United terminate his registration.

United are reportedly resigned to Gabriel's departure, which could see them receive only around £350,000 under FIFA compensation guidelines if he signs with a European club. Gabriel can complete a transfer to a continental European team before turning 18 due to being eligible for an EU passport via Irish and Cypriot family heritage.
