Preview: Carrick Needs a Response as Manchester United Face In-Form Como in UEFA Champions League

Manchester United travel to the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia to face Como in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. Manager Michael Carrick is facing heightened scrutiny following a poor run of form, with United winless in their last six matches across all competitions. United opened their European campaign with a 4-0 win over Sabah but recently suffered a 2-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid.

In contrast, Cesc Fabregas's Como side enter the match in strong form after winning three of their last six games, including a 3-1 Serie A victory over Fiorentina. United will be without Patrick Dorgu, Manuel Ugarte, and Benjamin Sesko through injury, while Como are missing Assane Diao. The writer predicts Como will earn a 2-1 victory over United.
