‘It’s really not a drama’: Carrick sticks to the script after Martínez storm

Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick dismissed talk of internal crisis following Lisandro Martínez’s public criticism of technical director Jason Wilcox. Speaking ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash with Leeds United at Elland Road, Carrick insisted the situation was "not a drama" and claimed the squad remains in a fantastic place despite a turbulent week that included a Champions League defeat against Atlético Madrid.

The Guardian’s Jamie Jackson characterizes Carrick’s calm press conference as a masterclass in emotional control amidst mounting pressure. United sit 13th in the league with six points from six matches, already exited the Carabao Cup, and face a challenging away test against Daniel Farke’s Leeds side.
