Manchester United players allegedly feel unwelcome and believe higher earners are being deliberately encouraged to leave the club.

According to journalist Pilib De Brún, citing a club source, several Manchester United players feel unwelcome and believe higher-earning squad members are being deliberately pushed to leave. The source claimed that certain defenders were informed they would be replaced at the end of the season and are refusing to play through injuries to avoid jeopardizing future moves.
The report follows ongoing tensions between leadership and squad members under INEOS. Sir Jim Ratcliffe publicly criticized high-earning players in March 2025, and defender Lisandro Martínez recently questioned director of football Jason Wilcox's recruitment following a 2-0 defeat against Atlético Madrid.
