Scott McTominay floated transfer alternative to seal ‘fascinating’ Man United reunion

Former Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay has emerged as a potential transfer target for Real Madrid. A move to the Spanish giants would reunite the Scotland international with former United manager Jose Mourinho. Former United forward Louis Saha suggested McTominay has the quality to play for Real Madrid alongside Jude Bellingham, following reports in Italy claiming the club made enquiries regarding his situation.

McTominay joined Napoli permanently in the summer of 2024 for £25.9 million and helped them secure the Serie A title in his debut season. Manchester United hold a 10% sell-on clause on any future fee Napoli receives for the midfielder, who previously made 31 appearances under Mourinho at Old Trafford.
