Former Newcastle United defender Emil Krafth admitted he may shed tears during his upcoming Sweden farewell, six months after an emotional departure from St James' Park. The Swedish Football Association announced that Krafth is formally retiring from international football alongside Emil Forsberg, Robin Olsen, Martin Olsson, and Viktor Claesson. Sweden supporters will honor Krafth after 52 caps during their Nations League fixture against Bosnia-Herzegovina on November 14 at Strawberry Arena.

Krafth departed Newcastle when his contract ended on June 30, 2026, following seven years on Tyneside. The 32-year-old free agent confirmed he is fully recovered from knee surgery and is currently training while holding discussions with clubs in Sweden and abroad.
