The Magpies are trying to improve their Academy scouting system and have invited two young stars from Africa to Tyneside for a trial…
Newcastle United has brought Gambian prospects Marong and Saine in for a month-long trial from TMT Academy. Marong captains the Gambia Under-17 national team, while winger Saine recently featured in their WAFU A U-17 Tournament victory. The trial was arranged through the Beyond Borders Agency.
The trial arrives as Newcastle expands its African recruitment efforts under sporting director Ross Wilson. The Premier League club recently advertised for a dedicated African scouting analyst to research regional football markets, academies, and prospective player pathways.
