Nico Gonzalez has stated that leaving Manchester City to join Newcastle United was the best decision he could have made. The midfielder completed a permanent move to Newcastle in August for a reported fee rising to £50 million with add-ons. Speaking about his transfer, Gonzalez explained that personal happiness is as vital as prestige and noted he settled in rapidly on Tyneside.
Gonzalez also addressed Manchester City's ongoing Premier League charges, expressing sympathy for behind-the-scenes staff while declining to offer a verdict. Newcastle is relying on Gonzalez to reinforce their midfield following the departures of Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali.
