Nottingham Forest transfer audit – summer signings graded and January priority identified

Nottingham Forest added five new signings during the summer transfer window under head coach Oliver Glasner, who took charge in July. The club prioritized quality over quantity, refraining from late panic additions after missing out on certain targets. Glasner stated that Forest opted to save funds for the January window, where the club will be fully prepared to target three or four suitable options per position if necessary.

Assessing the summer recruitment, midfielder Xaver Schlager received an A- grade following his arrival as a free agent from RB Leipzig. After an initial adjustment period, Schlager established an effective midfield partnership with James McAtee and benefited from his previous experience under Glasner at Wolfsburg. The club also recruited center-back Ousmane Diomande as part of their defensive reinforcements.
