‘It was always Tottenham’ – Andy Robertson reveals why he supported Spurs last season

Andy Robertson revealed that he committed to joining Tottenham Hotspur on a free transfer after running down his Liverpool contract. The 32-year-old left-back explained that Spurs initially attempted to sign him for £3m in January, but he chose to complete his contract at Liverpool before moving in the summer as Roberto De Zerbi's first signing.

Robertson admitted he closely followed Tottenham's matches last season and was nervous during their relegation battle, noting he only planned to join if they remained in the Premier League. Despite Spurs sitting at the bottom of the table after five matches, Robertson stated conversations with De Zerbi convinced him of the project.
