Lucas Bergvall has addressed summer transfer rumors linking him with a departure from Tottenham Hotspur, confirming he did not attempt to force an exit. Despite interest from Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United, and a deadline day enquiry from Chelsea, the 20-year-old midfielder remained in north London and recently signed a permanent contract extension keeping him at the club until 2031 with a salary increase.

Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi convinced the Swedish international to stay after Bergvall had previously considered a fresh challenge due to concerns about playing time. Bergvall, who has registered two goals and nine assists in 83 total appearances for Spurs, confirmed he maintained positive dialogue with the club throughout the process.
