Pochettino: Manchester City verdicts show fans ‘lived through an era of deception’

United States men's national team head coach Mauricio Pochettino stated that supporters lived through a period of deception following reports that Manchester City was found guilty of numerous financial rule breaches. The Premier League reportedly found Manchester City guilty of the vast majority of 115 financial charges spanning from 2009 to 2018.

Pochettino, who previously managed Tottenham Hotspur, Southampton, and Chelsea, questioned the enforcement of financial controls during his managerial tenure in England. He highlighted how Tottenham endured an 18-month transfer freeze while constructing their stadium, contrasting those strict restrictions with the alleged leniency shown toward Manchester City.
