John Wenham calls Tyler Tingey’s double contract twist unheard of after Tottenham rewarded the 18-year-old twice in five months.
Tottenham Hotspur defender Tyler Tingey signed his second professional contract extension in five months on September 17, 2026. The 18-year-old center-back and Under-18s captain initially signed his first professional deal in April 2026, prompting Spurs expert John Wenham to note that two deals in such a short window highlight how highly the club values him.
Tingey has played 38 matches for Spurs at the Under-18 level and was previously named the club's Scholar of the Year. He is expected to step up to Wayne Burnett's Under-21 side soon, potentially positioning himself for senior team opportunities under head coach Roberto De Zerbi.
