Tottenham Hotspur forward Mathys Tel scored a dramatic late winner for France Under-21s in their victory against Luxembourg. Tel came off the bench and headed in the decisive goal from a corner with 14 minutes remaining. The goal secured France's position as winners of qualifying Group C, sealing their qualification for next year's European Under-21 Championship despite teammate Joane Gadou being sent off.
The strike marked Tel's second goal in two matches during the international break, following an earlier goal against Iceland. The positive international window followed a difficult start to the club season under manager Roberto De Zerbi at Tottenham. Fellow Spurs players Archie Gray and Matheus Fernandes also helped their respective nations secure qualification for the tournament.
