Celtic are guaranteed £11.16m from the Europa League while Rangers have banked £923k. Here is what that gap could mean for the January transfer window.

Writer Eric Knott argues that Rangers will likely have a quiet January transfer window following early exits from two European competitions. According to figures reported by the Daily Record, Celtic are guaranteed £11.16m from the Europa League, while Hearts are assured £4.28m from the Conference League. In contrast, Rangers banked only £923k after losing to Jagiellonia Bialystok and Jablonec.
Knott contends that missing out on roughly £20 million in expected European revenue clashes directly with Rangers' record summer transfer spending. Although Rangers chief executive Jim Gillespie and finance director Sara Bishop acknowledged lost income while stating existing plans remain unchanged, Knott asserts that the financial shortfall will heavily restrict the club's upcoming mid-season transfer business.
