Shaun Maloney issues Green Brigade plea as Celtic ultras boycott Europa League showdown

Celtic assistant manager Shaun Maloney has voiced hope for unity as the Green Brigade ultras boycott home Europa League and Scottish Cup matches. Speaking ahead of Thursday's fixture against Celta Vigo while standing in for manager Martin O'Neill, Maloney admitted the team will miss the atmosphere generated by the North Curve as the club seeks to improve its European standing.

Maloney noted that resolving the ongoing dispute between supporters and the board lies with senior figures, emphasizing the positive impact a united stadium has on the squad. Additionally, Maloney provided squad updates, revealing that Cameron Carter-Vickers and Alistair Johnston could return from injury for Sunday's match against Hibernian, while Auston Trusty remains unavailable due to a private matter.
