Celtic star emerges as injury concern after withdrawing from international duty

Celtic winger Haissem Hassan has withdrawn from international duty with Egypt due to an injury concern. Egypt head coach Hossam Hassan confirmed the 24-year-old is undergoing intensive treatment for an unspecified issue and will miss the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and South Sudan. The winger had recently featured as a substitute in Celtic's 1-0 defeat against Rangers.

Hassan joins left-back Kieran Tierney on the sidelines after Tierney withdrew from Scotland duty earlier in the week. Celtic are also managing absences for Jota and Alistair Johnston ahead of their Premiership match against Motherwell on October 11, which precedes a Europa League trip to Benfica.
