Alan Stubbs explains why Dutchman’s first weeks at Easter Road could prove crucial and why sacked boss should resist the urge to rush back into management

Former Hibernian manager Alan Stubbs has shared his thoughts on the club's decision to appoint 34-year-old Dutchman Marink Reedijk following the sacking of David Gray. Speaking to the Edinburgh Evening News, Stubbs described the hiring as a bold move and noted that while Reedijk faces an immediate challenge after arriving outside the transfer window, Hibs have the infrastructure and budget in place to support long-term success.
Stubbs also advised Gray against rushing back into management, encouraging him to spend time with family and reflect on the experience. Reedijk will use an upcoming international break and a warm-weather training camp in La Manga to instill his tactical ideas and evaluate the current Easter Road squad before the January window.
