Enzo Maresca has offered his reaction to Alberto Gilardino being appointed as the new head coach of Parma. Speaking to Corriere dello Sport, Maresca praised Gilardino as a good coach and expressed personal support for his close friend, noting that only time will determine if he is the right fit for the club.
Maresca explained that he still tracks Parma closely from Manchester because his daughter was born there. Gilardino takes over following the departure of Carlos Cuesta, who parted ways with the club over disagreements with the hierarchy regarding the sporting project. Parma reportedly evaluated several candidates, including Roberto D'Aversa, Paolo Zanetti, and Francesco Calzona, before finalizing Gilardino's appointment.
