Italian newspapers describe the penalty kick awarded to Manchester United against Roma as ‘very soft’…

Spanish referee Jesús Gil Manzano faced heavy criticism from Italian media following Manchester United's 3-2 Champions League victory over AS Roma. Major Italian sports outlets, including Corriere dello Sport and La Gazzetta dello Sport, argued that United received a soft penalty and that defender Harry Maguire should have been sent off in the second half.
The penalty was awarded after Matheus Cunha made contact with Gianluca Mancini inside the box, which Bruno Fernandes scored on a retake after Bryan Cristante encroached. Italian outlets rated the referee 4/10, also asserting Maguire deserved a second yellow card for pulling down Santiago Castro.
