By: Ben Dixon AC Milan confirmed that Alexis Saelemaekers had undergone successful surgery this evening, but it is not all positive news. It is only a good thing that Saelemaekers’ surgery was a success; it means the road to recovery…

Alexis Saelemaekers is reportedly expected to be sidelined for five to six months following successful ankle surgery, according to MilanNews. While AC Milan initially hoped the Belgian winger would miss around four months, updated projections suggest he may not return until March. AC Milan aims to have him back in training by spring without rushing his recovery.
The procedure was performed by Professor Gino Kerkhoffs, who previously operated on Santiago Gimenez's ankle last season before the forward returned a month ahead of schedule. Consequently, the estimated recovery timeline for Saelemaekers remains subject to change as rehabilitation progresses.
