Ex-UFC Heavyweight Title Challenger Calls Out Rico Verhoeven for a Boxing Match on Joshua-Fury Undercard

Former UFC heavyweight title challenger Alistair Overeem has publicly challenged Dutch kickboxer Rico Verhoeven to a boxing match on the Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua undercard. The high-profile event is scheduled to take place on December 11 at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. Overeem accused Verhoeven of avoiding him and expressed a desire to settle their rivalry in the ring.

Beyond the potential undercard bout, Overeem stated that he aims to stage a subsequent clash between the two at Amsterdam Arena in 2027. The heavyweights were previously scheduled to meet in a 2021 GLORY kickboxing bout before an injury sidelined Overeem, and Verhoeven has yet to officially respond to the proposed boxing bout.
