Former world champion Jermall Charlo has withdrawn from his scheduled October 17 bout against Koen Mazoudier after suffering a training camp injury. The 36-year-old was set to compete in a 10-round super middleweight contest at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on the undercard of Sebastian Fundora against Ermal Hadribeaj. Former titleholder Jose Resendiz will replace Charlo in the fight.
The withdrawal extends a lengthy period of inactivity for the undefeated fighter, whose record stands at 34-0 with 23 knockouts. Charlo last fought in May 2025, stopping Thomas LaManna in six rounds, and the author notes this new delay significantly narrows his window to compete against top contenders at 168 pounds.
