The long-awaited clash between Devin Haney and Shakur Stevenson is closer than ever after the two rivals finally verbally agreed to a catchweight overnight. Negotiations for the blockbuster bout had previously stalled over the contracted limit, unsurprising given the difference…

Devin Haney and Shakur Stevenson have moved closer to finalizing their super fight after verbally agreeing to meet at a 145-pound catchweight. Stevenson publicly accepted Haney's counter-offer during an exchange on X, resolving a prolonged dispute over the contracted weight limit.
Haney had previously targeted a full 147-pound bout following his WBO welterweight title win against Brian Norman Jr., while Stevenson had sought 144 pounds after defeating Teofimo Lopez at 140 pounds. The overnight agreement also notably omitted any reference to a previously disputed rehydration clause.
