Osleys Iglesias retained his IBF and IBO super middleweight titles with a seventh-round stoppage victory over Oliver Zaren on Thursday night at Théâtre Capitole in Quebec City. Trainer Mikkel Kessler threw in the towel to protect Zaren as Iglesias unleashed sustained punishment during a one-sided title defense.
The victory improved the Cuban champion's record to 16-0 with 15 knockouts in his first defense of the IBF belt. Zaren suffered his first career defeat, dropping to 19-1-1 as he was systematically broken down by Iglesias's clean power punches.
