Arshdeep sustained a blow to the shoulder while batting in the fourth T20I in Hyderabad

Arshdeep Singh is doubtful for India's fifth and deciding T20I against the West Indies in Bengaluru after suffering a shoulder injury. The fast bowler was struck on his bicep by a Shamar Joseph delivery while batting in the fourth T20I in Hyderabad and was forced to retire hurt. In response, India's interim selection committee added veteran seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar to the squad as pace cover ahead of the series decider.
Bhuvneshwar had already earned a recall for the upcoming tour of New Zealand following an impressive IPL campaign with Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Arshdeep is also included in the squad scheduled to travel to New Zealand on Sunday, while the Indian team management monitors his fitness alongside existing injuries to fellow seamers Prasidh Krishna and Harshit Rana.
