The Board of Control for Cricket in India congratulated Harmanpreet Kaur after she stepped down as captain of the Indian Women's Cricket Team across all formats. Harmanpreet officially handed over the leadership role to allow the squad to transition under new management, though she confirmed she will continue to represent India as an active player.
Her captaincy tenure concluded following a historic run, which included captaining India to their maiden ICC Women's Cricket World Cup victory in 2025 and claiming two Asian Games gold medals. BCCI President Mithun Manhas and Honorary Secretary Devajit Saikia both praised her transformative leadership and lasting legacy in women's cricket.
