Tom Banton continued his hot ODI form but Arafat Minhas wizardry condemned Harry Brook's men to a chastening defeat…

England suffered an 87-run defeat against Pakistan in their opening match of the one-day international tri-series in Rawalpindi. Pakistan recovered from early trouble to post 9-302, aided by Hasan Nawaz scoring 79 and Arafat Minhas contributing 59 after both were dropped by England's fielders. England captain Harry Brook elected to field after winning the toss, but his team failed to chase the target.
Despite a 91-run opening partnership between Tom Banton and Ben Duckett, England collapsed from 5-197 to 214 all out in 38.4 overs. Arafat produced a career-best performance, taking 6-40 with his slow left-arm bowling, dismissing both Banton and Brook, before securing the final run out. England will face Sri Lanka next on Thursday.
