Hosts complete comeback over Queensland with remarkable two-wicket win in Perth

Western Australia secured a dramatic two-wicket Sheffield Shield victory over Queensland at the WACA Ground in Perth. Chasing a target of 201, WA stumbled to 8-161 on the final day before captain Aaron Hardie and an injured Sam Fanning combined in an unbroken partnership to steer the hosts to victory. Hardie was named Player of the Match after finishing unbeaten on 80.
Fanning, who batted through a torn hamstring and faced 82 deliveries, hit the winning runs to complete the comeback. Queensland pacer Xavier Bartlett claimed three final-day wickets to finish with nine for the match, but could not prevent WA giving new head coach Beau Casson a win in his first Shield game.
