Stokes retired from England duty earlier this year after an incident in a London nightclub alongside Gus Atkinson, having made his Test debut back in 2013, which is when Botham spoke up.

Former England cricket star Ian Botham has reignited his ongoing feud with Ben Stokes, referring to the former Test captain as a "stupid boy" and a "has-been." Speaking to the Times Magazine, Botham heavily criticized Stokes for self-indulgence and scrutinized England's conduct and preparation during their recent Ashes campaign, specifically calling out a team trip to Noosa after losing the opening matches.
The public dispute initially began over Botham's criticism of the national squad's lack of warm-up matches, which Stokes dismissed by referencing previous generations as "has-beens." Stokes, who retired from international cricket earlier this year following a nightclub incident alongside Gus Atkinson, previously responded with quotes attributed to Botham, continuing their tense war of words.
