The BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) treated 32 top men's cricketers between April 2025 and March 2026, according to an annual report accessed by The Times of India. The group included 20 centrally contracted players and 12 from a targeted India 'A' category. Overall, the Sports Science Medicine (SSM) team handled injuries for 68 players across genders, with the majority being soft-tissue issues.
Key players who recently underwent rehabilitation include Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, and Virat Kohli, while Hardik Pandya, Harshit Rana, and Nitish Kumar Reddy were among several repeat cases. The report also highlighted internal communication issues between national team personnel and the CoE, alongside a vacant SSM head position that remained unfilled after Nitin Patel resigned in March 2025.
