Ajinkya Rahane expressed happiness at Bhuvneshwar Kumar's recall to India's T20I squad for the New Zealand series, while linking it to the selection to 2027 ODI World Cup planning.
Former India batter Ajinkya Rahane expressed his delight over Bhuvneshwar Kumar's recall to India's T20I squad for the upcoming five-match series against New Zealand. Bhuvneshwar's selection marks his return to international cricket after nearly four years away, following an impressive IPL 2026 campaign with RCB where he claimed 28 wickets across 16 matches.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Rahane suggested that selectors and head coach Gautam Gambhir likely recalled the 36-year-old pacer with the 2027 ODI World Cup in mind. Rahane highlighted Bhuvneshwar's work ethic and noted that his comeback offers motivation to other domestic players in the 36-to-38 age bracket.
