Former Indian cricketer Dodda Ganesh has questioned the decision to drop young batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for the fourth T20I against New Zealand in Auckland. With India having already secured an unassailable 3-0 series lead, Ganesh expressed frustration on X, arguing that team management could have chosen to rest a senior player instead of excluding the promising youngster.
Sooryavanshi was brought into the side following an adductor injury to Ishan Kishan during the series opener. After scoring four runs in the second match, Sooryavanshi struck a rapid 45 off 19 deliveries in the third fixture in Wellington, sharing a record-breaking 118-run powerplay opening partnership with Abhishek Sharma.
