Olympic champion javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra announced that his recovery from an ankle ligament injury is progressing well. Chopra plans to resume training and rehabilitation in the next couple of weeks following medical advice from Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala. The injury had previously forced the Tokyo 2020 gold medallist to miss the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya and ruled him out for the remainder of the competitive season.
Chopra credited strict rest and consistent support from the Sports Authority of India and the Target Olympic Podium Scheme for his recovery progress. Looking ahead, Chopra has targeted next year to return to competition as he builds toward the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. He also praised the newly approved Khelo India Sports Goods Manufacturing Scheme and shared encouragement for India's upcoming Youth Olympic Games contingent.
