Right-arm pacer Gurnoor Brar took 3/44 in 9.2 overs as India bowled New Zealand out for 185 in the rain-curtailed first ODI at Auckland.
Indian fast bowler Gurnoor Brar explained the team's tactical bowling plan following India's victory over New Zealand in the first ODI at Eden Park in Auckland. After New Zealand were bowled out for 185, India chased down a rain-revised target of 143 in 32 overs, propelled by Virat Kohli's 74 runs. Brar delivered a key performance, claiming 3/44 in 9.2 overs.
Brar revealed that India's pacers focused on targeting a hard length to counter Eden Park's short straight boundaries and generate extra bounce utilizing his height. He adjusted his length after conceding an early six, following discussions with fellow seamers Arshdeep Singh and Anshul Kamboj, who took four and two wickets, respectively.
