Fakhar Zaman had gone through four matches without the kind of performance he wanted. But the Pakistan opener knew that a big innings was around the corner.
Fakhar Zaman hit 127 off 99 balls to guide Pakistan to a thrilling three-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the ODI tri-series final in Lahore. Chasing 326, Pakistan reached 331 for seven with nine balls remaining, equalling India's historic 2002 record for the highest successful run chase in an ODI final.
Zaman combined with Saad Baig, who scored 74, in a crucial 149-run stand after early wickets fell to Dilshan Madushanka. Arafat Minhas then contributed an important half-century in a 94-run stand with Hasan Nawaz to secure Pakistan's first ODI tri-series title since 2008.
