Rishabh Pant has been ruled out of India A's third unofficial Test against New Zealand A, which starts on November 7. While the wicketkeeper-batter has resumed skill training, team management decided against rushing his return to competitive action. His absence from the fixture also makes him doubtful for the senior team's first Test against New Zealand, scheduled to begin on November 19.
Pant suffered the injury during the Irani Cup final in Jammu and has not yet received clearance to play. According to Jagran News, he must complete three to four practice sessions before medical staff can finalize his return timeline. Dhruv Jurel could be considered for the opening Test if Pant is unable to prove his match fitness in time.
