The Story in 60 Seconds

Arunachal Pradesh forfeited their opening Ranji Trophy Plate Group match against Nagaland, scheduled to start Sunday in Ahmedabad, due to an administrative crisis. The state cricket association is paralyzed by an internal dispute between two rival factions, which has left the organization without an operating authority to select teams. The leadership battle is currently tied up in the Gauhati High Court's Itanagar bench.

Elections held in September saw Nabam Vivek elected president, but several district associations challenged the process over alleged irregularities. Because the court reserved its order, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia stated that the BCCI cannot intervene to form an independent selection committee. The ongoing turmoil also recently forced Arunachal Pradesh's Under-19 team to miss their Vinoo Mankad Trophy fixture against Sikkim.
