Known for his tight technique, opener had been largely pigeon-holed as a Test player, but the ongoing series has witnessed his development as a top-class white-ball batter

West Indies captain Shai Hope struck a 50-ball 102 against India in the fourth T20I in Hyderabad on Wednesday, marking his fourth century of the tour. The Indian Express argues that despite head coach Darren Sammy dismissing the idea that Hope is their only route to victory, the team's success in the series has consistently relied on the opener's leading performances.
Hope shared a 91-run partnership off 43 balls with Sherfane Rutherford during his composed century. Long considered primarily a Test specialist, Hope has maintained a series average of 130.50 at a strike rate of 190.51, attributing his T20 development to franchise leagues, his brother Kyle, and targeted coaching.
