India were in a bit of a pickle when the duo got together at 130/5, still needing 118 runs from 50 deliveries when Tilak Varma and Nitish Reddy joined forces.

Sanju Samson identified Tilak Varma's dismissal as the crucial turning point in India's 24-run defeat to the West Indies in Hyderabad. Chasing a target of 248 runs in the fourth T20I, India recovered from 130/5 through a strong partnership between Tilak Varma and Nitish Kumar Reddy. The stand brought India back into contention before Romario Shepherd dismissed Varma with 48 runs required from 19 balls.
Samson, who scored a 23-ball 56, expressed disappointment over the result despite his quick half-century. Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma struggled, managing six and 29 runs respectively. The victory allowed the West Indies to level the five-match series 2-2, setting up a decisive series finale in Bengaluru.
