Manchester United recorded their worst league start in nearly 40 years following a 1-1 draw against 10-man Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford. Bryan Mbeumo opened the scoring for United before Tottenham midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur received a red card for head-butting Luke Shaw. Despite holding a numerical advantage, manager Michael Carrick's side conceded a 92nd-minute equalizing header to Dominic Solanke, leaving United with only six points from six matches.
The draw leaves Tottenham sitting 18th in the Premier League table and still seeking their first league victory. Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi praised his squad's fighting spirit and resilience after playing with 10 men, despite the club's difficult start following heavy summer spending. Meanwhile, Carrick expressed deep disappointment that his side failed to capitalize and close out the match against ten opponents.
