Mohsin Naqvi’s ACC presidency likely to end in April 2027

Mohsin Naqvi's tenure as president of the Asian Cricket Council is scheduled to conclude on April 2, 2027, with any potential term extension facing near-certain failure. At least three of the five ACC Full Members are expected to oppose an extension, preventing the unanimous approval required by the board. Naqvi originally assumed the ACC presidency on April 3, 2025, alongside his roles as Pakistan Cricket Board chairman and Pakistan's Interior Minister.

Tensions escalated following disputes where India's men's and women's teams refused to accept trophies from Naqvi after tournament victories in 2025 and 2026. Bangladesh is next in line to take over the rotational presidency, with Bangladesh Cricket Board president Tamim Iqbal reportedly keen to assume the position once Naqvi's two-year term expires.
